This Privacy Policy explains how Hello Shop ("we", "us", the "app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the app. By using Hello Shop, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile photo, and a Google account identifier, through Google / Firebase Authentication. This is used to identify your account.
Location. With your permission, the app uses your device location (or a location you search/select) to find and display shops near that point. Location coordinates are sent to our backend to retrieve nearby places.
Search and scan activity. The areas you scan (as coordinates) are processed to return nearby shop data.
AI advisor messages. When you use the in-app AI advisor, the text you send is transmitted to our backend and to our AI provider to generate a response. Your chat history is stored locally on your device and can be cleared by you at any time.

2. How we use your information

To provide the core service: showing nearby shops, market analysis, and AI guidance.
To sign you in and maintain your account.
To improve reliability and performance of the app.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-party services

Hello Shop relies on the following services, which process data as needed to function:

Google (Sign-In / Firebase Authentication, and map & places data).
OpenAI (generates AI advisor responses from the text you send).
Supabase (database used to cache area data and, where applicable, store account records).
Render (hosts our backend server).

Each provider has its own privacy practices; we encourage you to review them.

4. Data retention

AI chat history is stored on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app.
Cached area (shop) data is non-personal and is refreshed periodically.
Account information is retained until you request deletion (see below).

5. Your rights & choices

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
You can clear your AI chat history within the app.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see our Delete Your Account & Data page.

6. Children's privacy

Hello Shop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
